Department of Medicine faculty edit book on endocrine diseases

West Virginia University Department of Medicine faculty Nadia Barghouthi, M.D., MPH, assistant professor, and Jessica Perini, M.D., MS, associate professor, recently edited a new book printed by CRC Press entitled “Endocrine Diseases in Pregnancy and the Postpartum Period.”

The book examines and explains normal hormonal physiology during pregnancy as well as hormonal pathology associated with various endocrine disease states prepartum and postpartum. Recommended audiences are endocrinology clinicians and fellows, obstetrics and gynecology clinicians and residents, and internal medicine clinicians and residents.

Both are members of the Endocrinology Section within the Department of Medicine. Dr. Perini serves as the program director of the endocrinology fellowship. Dr. Barghouthi is the assistant director of the endocrinology fellowship and also is the interim section chief.
