School of Medicine to host LCME Kickoff Plenary Session

The WVU School of Medicine will host a virtual plenary kickoff session for the upcoming Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) M.D. Program site visit. 

The plenary session takes place on Monday, Aug. 23, 2021 at noon and includes members of the WVU School of Medicine leadership team, as well as LCME Co-Secretary Veronica Catanese, M.D., M.B.A.

All faculty, students, and staff are invited to attend this informational session.

Dr. Catanese’s visit is a part of ongoing preparation efforts for the October 16-19, 2022, LCME site visit.

The LCME is officially recognized by the U.S. Department of Education to accredit medical schools' M.D. programs in the United States and Canada. It has joint oversight by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) and the American Medical Association (AMA) but is an independent organization.
