WVU’s Dr. Shawn Chillag Named American College of Physicians WV Chapter Governor-Elect Designee

Shawn A. Chillag, MD, FACP, professor of medicine at West Virginia University School of Medicine’s Charleston Campus, has been named American College of Physicians (ACP) West Virginia Chapter Governor-elect (GED).

Dr. Chillag will complete a year of training as a Governor-elect and then will start his four-year term as Governor in the Spring of 2023. As Governor, Dr. Chillag will serve as the official representative of the College for the West Virginia Chapter, providing a link between members at the local level and leadership at the national level. In the meantime, Dr. Chillag will be working closely with Laura M. Davisson, MD, MPH, FACP (the current governor) and College staff to learn about the College and his duties as Governor.

Dr. Chillag was awarded the ACP Laurate Award in 2019, as well as serving on the ACP Advisory Council, Meeting Program Committee, and as an abstract judge. He also has assisted in the nomination and support of several ACP fellowship and national award candidates.
