Message from the Program Director

Welcome to the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute. On behalf of our faculty and staff, it is my distinct honor to introduce you to West Virginia's first-ever residency program in our specialty. The launch of this program marks a historic and pivotal moment for healthcare in our state, and we are seeking a special group of physicians to join us as pioneers in this endeavor.

As a resident here, you will be more than a trainee; you will be a foundational member of a program destined to shape the future of physiatry for the people of West Virginia and the surrounding region. This is a unique opportunity to not only receive exceptional training but also to help build the culture, legacy, and clinical identity of a program from its very inception. Our mission is deeply rooted in a commitment to the community we serve, blending compassionate, patient-focused care with the highest standards of academic medicine.

What truly sets our program apart is its integration within the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, a premier, multidisciplinary powerhouse dedicated to patient care, research, and education. The RNI is a place where tomorrow's breakthroughs in brain health are happening today. Our residents will be immersed in this dynamic ecosystem of discovery, learning alongside clinicians, scientists, and engineers who are pushing the boundaries of what is possible in neurorehabilitation.

We are looking for aspiring physiatrists who are driven, curious, and possess a pioneering spirit. If you are seeking a residency that will challenge you to become an outstanding clinician, a thoughtful innovator, and a leader in our field, I invite you to explore what our program has to offer. Join us in building a new legacy for physical medicine and rehabilitation.
