Immunology and microbial pathogenesis Ph.D. candidate recognized at AACR special conference
Angisha Basnet, a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate in the Immunology and Microbial Pathogenesis Program at West Virginia University, was selected as a speaker for the plenary session at the AACR Special Conference in Cancer Research: Advances in Pancreatic Cancer Research—Emerging Science Driving Transformative Solutions, held from Sept. 28 to Oct. 1 in Boston, Massachusetts.
This conference is the premier forum for the presentation of cutting-edge research in the biology, detection, treatment, and prevention of pancreatic cancer. The 2025 program, developed by a distinguished panel of cochairs, reflects the full continuum of basic, translational, and clinical research.
Angisha's presentation, titled “Linking Reactive Oxygen Species and Neutrophil Extracellular Trap Formation to Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma Progression,” highlighted the contribution of neutrophil-driven inflammation in pancreatic cancer and L-012 imaging as a tool to monitor it.
In recognition of her work, Angisha also received a Scholar-in-Training Award, sponsored by, Let’s Win Pancreatic Cancer.
