WVU Medicine Opens New Urgent Care in Connellsville

WVU Medicine opened a new Urgent Care clinic on Monday (Feb. 16), expanding convenient access to high-quality, same-day care for patients and families in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding region.

The new clinic further strengthens WVU Medicine’s presence in the region and complements services available through WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital.

The WVU Medicine Connellsville Urgent Care is located at 218 Memorial Boulevard in a business plaza offering free parking directly in front of the clinic entrance for easy access. The clinic is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 363 days per year, closing only on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The new location provides comprehensive urgent care services for adult and pediatric patients ages three months and older. Patients can be seen for a wide range of non-emergent conditions, including cold and flu symptoms, sore throats, ear infections, urinary tract infections, rashes, and simple strains or sprains, among many other common illnesses and minor injuries.

The clinic also offers on-site x-ray services, the ability to perform provider-ordered bloodwork, and a broad menu of point-of-care laboratory testing, allowing for timely diagnosis and treatment during each visit.

“This new urgent care clinic reflects our continued commitment to meeting patients where they are and ensuring they have access to high-quality care when and where they need it,” Karyn Wallace, president and CEO of Uniontown Hospital, said. “By bringing these services to Connellsville, we are strengthening the continuum of care and making it easier for families to receive prompt, trusted medical attention close to home.”

The addition of the Connellsville Urgent Care will also help reduce unnecessary emergency department visits by offering an accessible option for same-day care of non-life-threatening conditions.

“Urgent care plays an important role in improving access, coordinating care across the Health System, and supporting the overall health of the communities we serve,” Chris Goode, MD, executive vice president and chief clinical integration officer for the WVU Health System, said. “This location expands timely access to treatment in Fayette County while ensuring patients who need higher levels of care can be seamlessly connected within WVU Medicine.”
