Please join the Division of Athletic Training at WVU's School of Medicine for a presentation by Douglas Casa, PhD ATC. 

Learning Objectives for Participants:

/ identify the reasons why athletes die suddenly in sport

/ list and identify current best practices for the prevention of sudden death in sport

/ compare accuracy of various temperature assessment devices for exercising individuals
and cooling modalities to use in the event of exertional heat stroke

/ develop strategies for implementing best practices to keep athletes safe during sport
and physical activity

/ West Virginia University P580 is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Athletic Trainers. This program is eligible for a maximum of 1.5 EBP Category hours/CEUs. ATs should claim only those hours actually spent in the educational program.

Cancellations received at least 7 business days before the event are 100% refundable. There will be no refund for cancellations received later. If participants register and do not attend, they are still responsible for full payment. Participants will need to contact West Virginia University via phone or email with request for refund.
