DR. JAMIE MILLER RECEIVED THE PRECEPTOR OF THE YEAR AWARD FROM THE WEST VIRGINIA SCHOOL OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE

Dr. Jamie Miller, WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital Emergency Room physician, received the Preceptor of the Year Award for the Central East Region from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM).

Each year, WVSOM presents two Outstanding Preceptors Awards in each statewide campus region. One goes to a primary care physician and one to a non-primary provider. The Central East Region includes the central part of West Virginia from Elkins and Buckhannon to Weston, Bridgeport, and Morgantown.

The Outstanding Preceptor Awards are presented to physicians who exhibit professionalism and demonstrate service to students including a commitment to teaching, mentoring, and giving back to the education process. They also serve as a positive role model by reflecting their commitment to the Osteopathic Tenets or Hippocratic Oath and their commitment to patient care.
