The Division of Communication Sciences and Disorders prepares students for impactful careers supporting individuals with communication disorders through innovative teaching, research, and clinical education. Students gain hands-on experience in research, clinical services, study abroad, and advocacy-focused student organizations.

Who we are.

We are speech-language pathologists and audiologists who assess and treat communication disorders across the lifespan to help individuals fully participate in daily life.

Our mission is to serve West Virginia and the region by educating compassionate, collaborative professionals, delivering evidence-based care, and expanding access to vital services.

Careers in these fields are on the rise, with job growth projected at 29% for speech-language pathology and 16% for audiology by 2030.
