Explore Health Professions Early
Curious about School of Medicine Health Professions majors? Want a head start on your college degree while discovering if the field is right for you? WVU’s High School ACCESS Program allows qualified high school students (GPA of 3.0 or higher) to begin major-related coursework as early as the summer before their sophomore year.
You can earn up to 24 hours of college credit—online, on-campus, or through dual enrollment at your high school—all at a reduced tuition rate. In addition to the major-specific options, students may enroll in 100- or 200-level non-restricted courses that often fulfill WVU’s General Education Foundations (GEF) and Health Professions program requirements.
Please note: ENGL 101 and ENGL 102 are not eligible for the High School ACCESS Program.
For a full list of major requirements, including eligible courses for ACCESS, visit the curriculum guide and navigate to the “Program Requirements” section.
