Request for 2025 Student Clinical Placements
Dear Site Coordinators of Clinical Education (SCCE),
It is time for our annual survey requesting student clinical placements for 2025. The WVU PT program adheres to the "uniform mailing date" policy developed by the APTA Academy of PT Education. This policy specifies that all PT and PTA education programs are to send their placement request surveys between March 1 and March 15 with a requested return deadline of late April.
All SCCEs should receive an email from me the first week of March with a link to an online survey. The survey will allow you to enter your placement offers for 2025 directly into our system. If you do not receive the email, please contact me at 304-293-1318 or rutzman@hsc.wvu.edu. If you would prefer to send your placement offer using a pdf or paper form, you may download the form using the links near the bottom of this page.
The survey will ask if the offers you make are “reserved” or “first-come, first served.” Please only mark the “first-come, first-served” option if you are offering the same placements/dates to multiple schools. The “reserved” option should be checked if you are offering a slot specifically for WVU students. If offer a placement as “reserved,” I will notify you approximately 8 weeks in advance if we will not be using the slot.
Site Coordinators of Clinical Education should complete and return the form below between March 1 and April 28, 2024.

Clinical Education Dates for 2025
PT 780: Clinical Education 5
This is the final/terminal clinical experience for the Class of 2025. For this experience, you have the option to offer a single 16-week experience, or to offer for one/both 8-week rotations. The 16-week option should be used if you feel a longer experience is necessary for students to reach “entry level” in your setting.
- January 13 to May 2, 2025 (16 week option)
- January 13 to March 7, 2025 (8 week option)
- March 10 to May 2, 2025 (8 week option)
PT 760: Clinical Education 3 (10-weeks)
This is the first full-time clinical experience for the Class of 2026. Students will have completed all classroom/lab content except pediatrics and administration/management.
- June 2 to August 8, 2025
PT 770: Clinical Education 4 (10-weeks)
This is the second full-time clinical experience for the Class of 2026. Students will have completed all classroom/lab content.
- October 6 to December 12, 2025
