What made you want to apply to WVU EM MATTER?

Over the last several years, I have had the opportunity to work in several different hospitals alongside physicians from varying fields. I always found myself enjoying the emergency department the most due to the diverse range of patients and medical conditions. I had a very positive experience during my first year of medical school while working in the ED at Ruby Memorial. I was impressed with the learning environment and the opportunity to work in both community and rural hospitals while in residency.

Hobbies: Hunting, Fishing, Hiking, BJJ

Biography: Before coming to WVU for medical school, I completed my bachelor’s degree in Russian studies at Brigham Young University. I worked in the military for several years before ultimately deciding to pursue a career in medicine. My wife and I enjoy spending as much time outdoors as possible. When I’m not in the mountains with my wife and dog, you can usually find me cheering on the Chiefs.

What made you want to apply to WVU EM MATTER?

I grew up around emergency medicine and worked as a scribe in the ED before medical school. Going into medical school, I was already sure I wanted to pursue EM, and working with the residents and attendings during the externship confirmed that I wanted to complete my training here at WVU!

Hobbies: Reading, Cooking, Pure Barre

Biography: While I spent a good portion of my life living in Florida, my family now lives in California, and I fly out to visit whenever I can. My family has an adorable golden retriever named Wesley, and I am absolutely obsessed with him. When not studying, you can find me reading fantasy novels, searching for new crockpot recipes, or cheering on the Miami Hurricanes.
