What does a typical day in the life of a surgeon include?
Everyday is different. Some days are spent in clinic or in the office. Other days are spent operating in the operating room. My job evolves around caring for patients and teaching students about medicine.
What is the biggest challenge of being a surgeon?
Not enough hours in the day to accomplish everything!
How do you foresee changing over the next 20 years?
The future of surgery will be more specialized and I foresee the surgeon's workday becoming shorter.
What advice would you give a student who is considering a vascular or surgery residency?
Come talk to me! My door is always open.
