Kallie Schafner wins SOT's RC4 travel award for 2022
Congratulations to Kallie Schafner, a Chemistry junior and member of the Nurkiewicz research program. Kallie received a Society of Toxicology (SOT) RC4 Undergraduate Travel Award this January which recognizes outstanding undergraduate members of SOT Regional Chapters who have not yet received their bachelor’s degrees and are presenting research during the SOT Annual Meeting and ToxExpo. The goal of this award is to provide these students a travel grant that enables them to attend the SOT Annual Meeting and present posters of their toxicology-related projects.
The recipients of this award have conducted impressive independent research projects in the field of toxicology and have received outstanding recommendations from their mentors and Regional Chapter Executive Committees. The RC4 Award recipients also plan to pursue graduate-level degrees and continue research after completing their undergraduate degrees.
She presented her research at the annual meeting in San Diego! Her project is entitled "Effects of Maternal Inhalation Exposure to Propylene Glycerol and Vegetable Glycerin on Fetoplacental Health."
