The WVU Positive Health Clinic staff work to provide a comprehensive, "one stop shopping" approach to the treatment of HIV/AIDS. We understand that HIV/AIDS affects more than just the physical aspects of the patient. The diagnosis of HIV/AIDS can affect a patient's finances, housing, family, social relationships and access to health care. We work to continuously improve our services to meet the patient's vast range of needs. We provide:
- Ryan White eligibility determination
- State-of-the-art, comprehensive HIV treatment by Infectious Diseases specialists
- Rapid HIV Counseling and Testing of partners and contacts by appointment
- On-site Care Navigator Support
- Referrals to Ryan White Part B Medical Case Management
- Outpatient Mental Health Services provided by 1 Psychiatrist and referral to a Mental Health Therapist
- Coordination with Primary Health Care provider (Internal Medicine)
- Referral for Oral Health Care
- Client Education including: HIV education, cardiovascular/Diabetes risk reduction counseling, and Smoking Cessation counseling.
- Onsite referral to appropriate providers for Women's Health Care
- Medication Adherence/Side Effect Management Counseling by a Licensed Pharmacist
- Substance Abuse Services by referral
- Financial Counseling related to health care provided at WVU Medicine and the Positive Health Clinic
- Appropriate, on-site referrals for specialty and sub-specialty care
- HIV/Pregnancy Care through collaboration with the on-site, High Risk OB clinic
- Assistance transitioning from Pediatric to Adult HIV care
- On-site Laboratory and Radiology services
- On-site Pharmacy
- Transportation Assistance for those eligible
- Emergency Financial Assistance for those eligible
