DEV - About the Fellowship

Our NCCU is a 21-bed unit, located in the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute at Ruby Memorial Hospital. We are part of a level 1 stroke and trauma center. The NCCU handles over 3000 admissions per year.  

In addition to clinical excellence, our NCCU and fellowship are focused on clinical innovation and improving care for our patients. We have developed several nation- and world-leading programs including the use of blood-based biomarkers in neurologic disease, active CSF exchange for the treatment of a variety of diseases, stereo EEG for monitoring of injured patients and quantification of cortical spreading depressions, portable MRI, AI-based fiber tracking and other methods for evaluating brain network disturbances of stroke and traumatic brain injury. We are also integrated into our institution’s multidisciplinary neurotrauma center and integrated rehab center.
