Berkeley Medical Center cardiac rehabilitation program recertified by industry leader

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. – The cardiac rehabilitation program at WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center recently received recertification by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR).

Berkeley Medical Center’s cardiac rehabilitation program is designed to help patients resume a normal lifestyle as soon as possible following a cardiovascular problem. Each rehabilitation plan is customized to the patient’s needs and is continually evaluated. In addition to nutrition and exercise, education and support are important components of each patient’s rehabilitation plan.

To earn accreditation, the hospital’s cardiac rehabilitation program participated in an application process that requires extensive documentation of the program’s practices. AACVPR Program Certification is the only peer-review accreditation process designed to review individual programs for adherence to standards and guidelines developed and published by AACVPR and other related professional societies

“AACVPR-certified programs are leaders in the cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation field,” Dana Price, R.N., cardiac and pulmonary rehab clinical coordinator at Berkeley Medical Center, said. “We are thrilled that our proven track record of high quality patient care has been recognized by this recertification.”
