Blue Ribbon Recognition Program created to welcome new employees to WVU Medicine family
WVU Medicine wants to do a better job of identifying and welcoming new employees, so it’s launching a Blue Ribbon Recognition Program on Monday, July 5.
The program involves new employees wearing a blue ribbon on their ID badge for their first 90 days of employment so that existing employees can recognize them and make them feel welcome.
“It can be very difficult to navigate a new job and new surroundings,” said Leeann Kaminsky, chief human resources officer. “By being able to easily identify new employees wearing a blue ribbon, we can ensure they feel part of the family by saying hello, offering assistance, helping them find their way around, and inviting them to coffee or lunch.
“We are committed to creating a family-like culture and environment at WVU Medicine, and this program is another way we hope to achieve that,” she continued.
