Burt promoted to VP of operations

Nathan Burt has been promoted to vice president, operations, and his new role was effective Jan. 1. He has served the organization in this role on an interim basis since September 2019.

As vice president, Burt has oversight of several areas, including Facilities; Planning, Design, and Construction; Environmental Services; Nutrition Services; Clinical Labs; United Linen Services; Security; Guest Services; Transport; Respiratory; Rehabilitation Services; Technology Planning; Safety and Emergency Services. He will also continue to work closely with health system supply chain leadership on issues pertaining to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Burt was formerly assistant vice president for ancillary and support services for WVU Medicine-WVU Hospitals and had administrative responsibility for many of the same areas. He joined WVU Medicine in 2017 from UPMC Presbyterian/Shadyside, where he was regional director of clinical operations.

He earned a Master of Health Administration degree from Ohio State University and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Utah.
