CAMC/WVU Young Researchers Forum
Charleston Area Medical Center’s and the West Virginia University Health Sciences Charleston Campus hosted the CAMC/WVU Young Researchers Forum on July 18 at the Charleston campus auditorium with students and residents presenting the results of their Summer projects. The aim of the forum is to inspire and bring together young researchers in the field of medicine and to provide a vibrant place for discussing potential and ongoing research. The forum strives to provide a friendly environment to allow young researchers to get feedback on their work, exchange experience, ask questions, explore pathways open to them. In addition, the forum stimulates interaction between young researchers, experienced researchers and the clinical environment.
Many members of the WVU faculty, CAMC medical staff and CAMC Institute Research staff served as mentors of the students throughout their research projects. Students featured were current medical students in WV medical school programs or undergraduate students pursuing medical school pathways. Projects presented shared research outcomes related to patients/care provided on the CAMC/WVU Charleston campus.
