Community Service Opportunities

Donations needed for Sojourners Shelter for Homeless Women and Children. Collection will be feminine hygiene products and diapers and pull-ups. In 2020 Sojourners, the primary shelter for homeless women and families with children in Charleston, provided 23,684 nights of shelters and services for 614 homeless children and adults along with job readiness training, social services, case manager assistance, and relocation services as residents became employed and independent. Donations may be dropped off at Elizabeth Memorial UMC in the church entryway boxes during Monday-Thursday from 8 am-1 pm or on Sunday from 8:30 am-12 pm. or call to schedule a drop-off. Thank you.

Food Pantry
Elizabeth Memorial UMC provided 134.5 pounds of nonperishable food to the Heart and Hand Food Pantry (total 221 pounds in 2021) and 153 pounds of nonperishable food, personal hygiene products, and tote bags to the Covenant House Food Pantry (total 233.5 pounds). Donations may be dropped off in the church entryway boxes during Monday-Thursday from 8 am-1 pm or on Sunday from 8:30 am-12 pm. or call to schedule a drop-off. Thank you.

CLASS OF 2022

WVU-Charleston Family Medicine Rural Scholars Program application deadline will be APRIL 1, 2021. Interviews will be scheduled in early April.
