COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES:

Elizabeth Memorial UMC mission project is collecting items for two Charleston organizations that help people restore their lives from addiction: Recovery Point of WV and Rea of Hope. For more information about their programs, please go to their websites: recoverypointwv.org and reaofhope.org.

Recovery Point, Charleston, has requested: any size Ibuprofen, Tylenol, Pepto Bismol, Tums; tampons and pads; deodorant, body wash, chapstick; fitted bed sheets (twin XL), bed pillows; notebook and pens.

Rea of Hope has requested: full size umbrellas, full size white bath towels, hand towels and wash clothes, as well as cleaning supplies.
If you want to donate money for items, please send it to the church office and Jane Duffy will be glad to shop for you. Donations may be brought to the church entryway boxes, Monday-Thursday, 8:00am-1:00pm,; Sunday 8:30am-12:30pm; or call to schedule a drop-off. 108 Oakwood Road, Charleston, WV 25314.

KNIT PROJECT

If anyone is interesting in knitting or crocheting hat, blankets, etc. for the Pediatrics department, there all the supplies you need in the Office of Student Services. Just come in and select any of the items you may need.

CLASS OF 2021

Charleston’s GQ March 8- 12 (The week before the BIG WEEK)

The Graduation Questionnaire (GQ) is open!! We can’t stress enough how important it is to complete the GQ, which gives us valuable information for our future. Detailed information about incentives has been emailed to you. To make sure that you are eligible for the drawings, please forward your completion email to Charissa (GQ confirmation email from AAMC).

May Graduates: Graduation Application is now open! Go to STAR to apply. Remember you need 100 hours of Community Service logged on SOLE!

School of Medicine Graduation - Sunday, May 16th at 2 PM at Milan Puskar Stadium-

We will be joined by the schools of Law, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy and Public Health.

Regalia will be required to participate. Information on how to order is on the website below or you can contact the bookstore.

You will be required to register for participation in the ceremony as the number of participants will dictate how many guests each graduate may invite.

Masks and social distancing will be required as well.

We do not have all the details yet other than what we have shared.

WVU-CHARLESTON FAMILY MEDICINE RURAL SCHOLARS PROGRAM application deadline will be APRIL 1, 2021. Interviews will be scheduled in early April.

Once the GME office has received your application, you will be emailed specific instructions for completing the application process and providing the remaining documents required for consideration. Applications and all other required documents as outlined must be received by April 2, 2021 for scholarship consideration

HIV/IPE Virtual Volunteer Opportunity - This is available to all students. Opportunity to participate in HIV workforce development: Two hours of community ervice with certificate provided.
