Dental fraternity welcomes new members at WVU
The West Virginia University School of Dentistry recently hosted a ceremony to welcome new members to the Chi Chi Chapter of Delta Sigma Delta, marking the induction of 27 students who are members of the Doctor of Dental Surgery Class of 2029.
Delta Sigma Delta a service-oriented fraternity that brings dentists and dental students together to promote excellence in the profession through education, fellowship, and service.
The annual event, held this year on Nov. 2 at Erickson Alumni Center, was organized and led by the Delta Sigma Delta executive board to serve as an introduction to the fraternity’s traditions and values. During the event, members enjoyed a meal together while learning the fraternity’s song and the story of the Loving Cup, a symbol of the bonds of brotherhood.
“We’re excited to have them join our brotherhood and look forward to their involvement in upcoming events, starting with our Christmas Party before winter break,” Kaiden Hammer, chapter historian, said.
Delta Sigma Delta was founded on November 15, 1882, in Ann Arbor, MI. There are 75 chapters throughout the United States, Europe, Canada, and Australia.
