Dr. Robert Blake receives award from St. Joseph's Hospital
BUCKHANNON, WV- Dr. Robert Blake, Director of Emergency Services at St. Joseph’s Hospital of Buckhannon was honored with the Outstanding Teaching Award from WVU Emergency Medicine. Dr. Blake received the award for his “enthusiasm and excellence” in teaching residents studying emergency medicine.
“We certainly appreciate St. Joseph's hospital Emergency Department giving our residents the opportunity to rotate through their facility,” said Erica Shaver, Vice Chair of Education and Residency Program Director for WVU Medicine. “Our residents get a unique and valuable experience working in the rural ED and are educated via first-hand experience on novel ways of managing critically ill patients who don't have immediate access to tertiary care capabilities. Our residents find this opportunity to be a priceless experience and one that we look forward to continuing and expanding in the future “
