Eastern Campus graduating medical students celebrate Match Day 2023

The West Virginia University School of Medicine’s Eastern Campus recently celebrated Match Day as fourth-year medical students were given their letters and found out where they will be completing their residency training.

The event was held at the Purple Iris at Hartwood Mansion in Martinsburg on Friday, March 17. Fourth-year medical students from the Eastern Campus were in attendance along with their families and members of the Eastern Campus faculty and staff.

The 12 students from the School of Medicine Eastern Campus’s Class of 2023 received their match letters on Friday, with nine students attending the celebration in Martinsburg and three students attending the ceremony in Morgantown. Three students will continue their medical education at WVU with matches to the University’s internal medicine, pediatrics and rural family medicine residency programs.   • Emergency Medicine – Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.
  • Emergency Medicine – Duke University, Durham, N.C.
  • Family Medicine – United Hospital Center, Bridgeport, W.Va.
  • Internal Medicine – West Virginia University, Morgantown, W.Va.
  • Neurosurgery – Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, Ga.
  • Neurosurgery – Rutgers University, New Brunswick, N.J.
  • Pathology – New York University Grossman School of Medicine, New York, N.Y.
  • Pediatrics – Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, Hempstead, N.Y.
  • Pediatrics – Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge, La.
  • Pediatrics – University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Ala.
  • Pediatrics – West Virginia University, Morgantown, W.Va.
  • Rural Family Medicine – West Virginia University School of Medicine Eastern Campus, Harpers Ferry, W.Va.
