Eastern Happenings - August 3, 2021

Vaccinator Training – If any students are interested in being trained as a vaccinator, please contact Christa Schwoerer in Student Services: christa.schwoerer.m@wvumedicine.org.

For information on COVID-19 updates: https://medicine.hsc.wvu.edu/coronavirus

Community Service Hours – As part of your graduation requirement, you must complete 100 hours of community service. Please remember to document what you have already completed, and plan to start early on completing any additional hours needed, since opportunities are limited due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Sharps injury reminder for students – Should you experience an actual, possible, or “just not sure” blood or body fluid exposure, report it immediately to OR staff in the room, go to OR Charge Nurse for assistance. You will report to the ER for immediate follow-up. Must address within 2 hrs! When registering, do not give insurance card, register as “WVU Student Health Guarantor Account” so it does not get charged to your insurance. Be sure to notify one of the campus Deans or Student Services Staff. The full needlestick policy is in the WVU MD Degree Handbook on SOLE.
