Community Service Hours – As part of your graduation requirement, you must complete 100 hours of community service. Please remember to document what you have already completed, and plan to start early on completing any additional hours needed, since opportunities are limited due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Peds Grand Rounds is broadcast from Morgantown every Wednesday 8-9 am. The first Wednesday is at the board room on the 8th floor of BMC. Remaining sessions held at the ED conference room in ED of BMC. If you are on a Pediatrics Week, please plan to attend.

Wellness Center Virtual Classes – The Wellness Center at BMC is offering a variety of virtual Web-Ex fitness classes free of charge for members, WVU Medicine East staff, and providers. Volunteer/Community Service Opportunities

Stepping Stones/Good Samaritan Free Clinic – Volunteers needed every Wednesday at 5pm and first Tuesday of each month at 5pm. New location: 601 S. Raleigh Street, Martinsburg. To volunteer or for additional information: Cosby Potter-Davis – cosby.davis@comcast.net

Volunteers Needed – Chronic illness group and their support system is looking for speakers to give 45-minute presentations on the first and third Tuesday of each month. Meetings held 9-10:30am in the Dorothy McCormack Center, 2^nd floor conference room. Topics can be health-related, inspirational, supportive, educational about coping mechanisms, sharing a story/experience, or a fun activity. PPE - If you will need any replacements for PPE for the spring semester, please reach out to Student Services so these can be provided for you.

Health Screenings - The daily health check emails will start up again in January, and you will need to complete these daily.

MSIV Scheduling Suggestions – A scheduling Zoom meeting will be held for the current MSIII class on Fri., Jan. 15^th, 1:00-3:00pm. Any MSIV students who would like to share any hints, tips, or suggestions and are available to participate in the discussion, please contact Jane Horst (horstj@wvumedicine.org).

1. Prep - In January you will be sent information that you will need to complete for graduation and how you would like your diploma completed. Please watch your email for this information from Amy Drvar.

Mock Interviews – Still available by appointment, held on Wednesdays and Thursdays. This is a good opportunity to practice interview with a faculty member virtually and receive feedback on style, lighting, audio, etc. as you prepare for the residency interview season. Interview Space – Limited space is available at Eastern HSC for students who may need a quiet space for their virtual residency interviews. Please use your own equipment (laptop, A/V, ethernet, special lighting). To reserve a space, please contact Christa Schwoerer (christa.schwoerer.m@wvumedicine.org).

Health Update – Please remember to complete the two health update questions and email to Jane Horst (horstj@wvumedicine.org) on Monday morning prior to beginning your rotation each week.

MS3 Class of 2022

V-Scans – Eastern Campus has been loaned 8 ultrasound V-Scan portable machines for student use during your rotations – 2 scanners each for Family Med, Internal Med, Pediatrics, and Surgery. The units are available for checkout in the Student Services office. Please contact Christa (christa.schwoerer.m@wvumedicine.org) or Michelle (alderm@wvumedicine.org) to sign out a unit for use on rotation.

Textbooks – If you still have outstanding textbooks from fall semester clerkships, please return them to Student Services this week so they can be re-distributed for the new semester. Watch your email for a notification when they are ready for you to pick up.
