Employee Assistance Program includes new, online COVID-19 resource center

COVID-19 is bringing a lot of changes to our lives, including stress and anxiety. WVU Medicine Human Resources has put together resources through Live Balanced, with Resources for Living, a confidential and comprehensive Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to help employees cope during this challenging time.

This is a free benefit for all benefit-eligible employees and their family members, regardless of whether or not they are enrolled in any employer benefits.

Once logged into the site, employees can click on the COVID-19 Resource Center and find the following information:

  • National health resources, such as information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
  • Unemployment information
  • Food and prescription delivery
  • Caregiver resources elder and child care

Video/webinar resources

  • Twice-a-week webinars have been added to the COVID-19 Resource Center for April with information for managing anxiety and stress, as well as information for parents and children.
  • In addition, Live Balanced provides a link to MyStrength, a free online resource to help manage anxiety, stress, insomnia, depression and to help practice mindfulness during this uncertain time. The MyStrength website has added resources related to managing heightened stress during COVID-19.
  • Once you have login to www.resourceforliving.com, go to the SERVICES menu bar and choose MyStrength and register on their site if you have not already registered in the past.

Employees and their eligible dependents can continue to use these unlimited resources as often as necessary as we continue to have to manage through COVID-19.
