Update: Deadline to enroll for Information Technology's new two-factor authentication has been extended
WVU Medicine Information Technology is adopting a two-factor authentication process for all employees, providers, and contractors who access the WVU Medicine Network remotely.
Enrollment will not be required at this time as IT continues to test the process.
The enrollment date will be provided in a future announcement.
IT is encouraging leadership to continue to communicate this upcoming two-factor requirement for remote access via Citrix and VPN. Employees, providers, and contractors will have five weeks to complete enrollment once the enrollment period begins. A cell phone that can receive a text message or download a phone app to receive a push message is required for remote access via Citrix or VPN to the WVU Medicine network from an external location (e.g., home office, hotel).
Anyone connecting to WVU Medicine Network from the Health Science Center (HSC) network will not be required to use WVU Medicine's two-factor authentication.
