Eye Institute offering employee discount for LASIK procedure

The WVU Eye Institute is offering WVU Medicine (UHA and WVUH) employees a discount on LASIK surgery until Oct. 31.

The cost is $1,600 per eye, which is about $500 less than the average cost of LASIK surgery performed in the U.S., according to https://www.allaboutvision.com/.

LASIK (laser assisted in-situ keratomileusis) is the most commonly performed vision correction surgery. This procedure involves the creation of a thin flap by the laser, which is retracted then repositioned following the laser vision procedure. This approach allows faster healing and vision recovery.

To be considered a candidate, patients must be at least 21 years old, and have healthy eyes and a stable eye prescription for the last 12 months. Patients will need an evaluation first in order to make sure they qualify for LASIK. The evaluation appointment is free; please schedule an evaluation appointment (855-WVU-CARE) before Oct. 31. Be sure to mention that you are a UHA or WVUH employee.

For payment options, see: https://www.carecredit.com/ or contact Patient Financial Services, which offers a plan of six months with no interest or 24 or 36 months with finance charges.
