First recipient of Mildred C. Swanson Scholarship in Histotechnology announced
Kelsey Holben was recently announced as the first-ever recipient of the Mildred C. Swanson Scholarship in Histotechnology. The scholarship supports students in the medical laboratory science program who study histotechnology and have shown academic success.
Holben, a senior, was honored at the October 5 scholarship luncheon. The scholarship was presented to her by Mr. and Mrs. Richard Swanson—the donors who established the scholarship in honor of Richard's mother, Mildred Swanson, who worked as a histotechnologist at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital for 18 years before her retirement.
