Former Alumni Jevon Carter gives back

Memphis Grizzly Jevon Carter made a welcome return to Mountaineer Basketball on Monday, February 18th, to present a check for $27,500 to Dr. Richard Goldberg and the Norma Mae Huggins Cancer Research Endowment Fund. Funds were raised through the sale of his “Treadmill Mentality” T-shirts, where 100% of the proceeds are donated to the Endowment. This comes just weeks after Coach Huggins hosted another successful Fish Fry at Mylan Park.

Carter played basketball for West Virginia University (WVU) under Head Coach Bob Huggins. A point guard for the Mountaineers, Carter was known as one of the top defensive players in college basketball, winning the NABC Defensive Player of the Year and the Lefty Driesell Award after both his junior and senior seasons, and winning the inaugural Naismith Defensive Player of the year in his final season.  His idea for his gift from the Treadmill Mentality comes from his experience as a developing player with WVU Men's Head Basketball Coach Bob Huggins.
