HSC VPN (GlobalProtect) updates

Starting June 27, use of HSC’s VPN (GlobalProtect) by faculty and staff will require a validated client machine certificate when connecting to the HSC network.

Most users access the HSC VPN using a device that is managed by HSC ITS. Devices that are managed by HSC ITS already have the needed certificates in place, although users may be prompted to select an updated certificate when making the initial connection.

Devices not managed by HSC ITS will receive a notification when connecting to HSC’s VPN that VPN connectivity is not available for unmanaged devices. If you are using an unmanaged device to connect through HSC’s VPN, please contact the HSC Help Desk for assistance. Devices connecting to the HSC VPN must meet WVU’s University-Owned Devices Standard.

Instructions for Windows and Mac users are included below. If you have any questions, please contact the HSC Help Desk at 304-293-3631, option 1, or helpdesk@hsc.wvu.edu.
