Katie Hoffman named director of academic personnel at WVU Health Sciences

Kathryn "Katie" Hoffman has been named director of academic personnel for the West Virginia University Health Sciences Center. In this role, she will work directly with Louise Veselicky, associate vice president for HSC Academic Affairs and her team in managing faculty retention, promotion and tenure processes, emeritus applications, and other faculty focused initiatives. 

Hoffman will coordinate efforts across the five Health Sciences schools in the development of school specific updated promotion and tenure guidelines to be completed by June 30, 2026. She will serve as a subject matter expert on policies and procedures for promotion and tenure. 

In addition to this leadership role, Hoffman continues to support key academic and collaborative initiatives. She remains project manager for the Office of Interprofessional Education and serves as research coordinator for the WV STEPS David and JoAnn Shaw Simulation Training and Education for Patient Safety Center.
