Life no longer placed on hold: Contact Center’s Ida Nieman to retire after 40 years at WVU Medicine
Ida Nieman is retiring after more than 40 years at the WVU Medicine Contact Center.
Nieman was a rare employee, who made a tremendous impact on her department and will be greatly missed, according to Richard Andrew Frye, manager, Ambulatory Practice Operations.
“She has been with us for over 40 years and has been a cornerstone of our department from day one,” Frye said. “She has seen our Contact Center grow from a staff of six employees to over 150, and has been instrumental in the development of our staff and department.
“During her time here, she has fostered relationships with people throughout the organization and has been a resource for all that have reached out to her. She is truly an irreplaceable asset in our organization and we will not be the same without her.”
Nieman plans to spend more time with her family, Frye said. Her last day is Wednesday, March 23.
“Ida, thank you for everything,” Frye said. “We hope you are able to enjoy so much more time with your family and spend lots of time at the beach. Though I am sad you won’t be working with us, I am very glad that you will have the ability to do anything you wish at the drop of a hat. I hope you have an amazing retirement!”
