Matt Parsley, Exercise Physiology student, was awarded a Gilman scholarship
Matt Parsley, a West Virginia native (hailing from Williamson, WV) was awarded Gilman Scholarship to study abroad in 2016. Mr. Parsley is a double major in Exercise Physiology and Biology and planning to continue his studies in Medicine.
Gilman scholarship is a federally-funded study abroad award for students with high financial need who are participating in credit-bearing programs overseas that are 4 weeks or longer. The scholarship has a preference for students traveling outside of Western Europe and Australia and strives to diversify the types of students who study abroad. Matt will be traveling to Vietnam and Cambodia with faculty in the Social Work Department to study human trafficking and will be volunteering with local NGOs.
