McCardle awarded Healthcare Information Management and Systems Society scholarship
Nicholas McCardle, a senior health informatics and information management major at West Virginia University, was recently awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the West Virginia chapter of the Health Information Management and Systems Society.
The award annually recognizes one student who presents leadership qualities and is pursuing a career in the healthcare information field.
“The initiative and leadership that Nicholas is demonstrating as a student are the qualities that are highly sought after by HIM employers. I am very proud to have him as part of the first WVU HIIM graduating class,” Sally Lucci, director of WVU’s HIIM program, said.
In addition to being a student ambassador for professional and undergraduate programs at the School of Medicine, McCardle is a student reporter with Channel Kindness.
