Medicine Grand Rounds: Dr. Rankin to give presentation on lung cancer screenings for disadvantaged populations

A visiting professor from the University of Melbourne will give a presentation on lung cancer screenings for disadvantaged populations during the Department of Medicine grand rounds on Friday, May 26, at 8 a.m.

The presenter will be Nicole M. Rankin, Ph.D., a professor in evaluation and implementation science at the University of Melbourne. Her presentation will be titled "Exploring Implementation Strategies That Enable People from Disadvantaged Communities to Screen for Lung Cancer." The presentation will be held online via Zoom.

The objectives for Dr. Rankin's presentation are to understand which strategies will optimize the participation of high-risk populations across the lung cancer screening pathway from promotion to follow-up, to explain how high-risk participants from lower socio-economic communities can be engaged in designing and/or using these strategies, and to understand how smoking cessation interventions can be optimally embedded into lung cancer screening programs.
