Medicine Grand Rounds: Drs. Romero and Someshwar to give presentation on transition of care

Leslie-Joy Romero, D.O., and Jean Someshwar, M.D., will give a presentation on transitioning pediatric patients to adult care during the Department of Medicine grand rounds on Friday, Aug. 23, from noon to 1 p.m.

Dr. Romero is an assistant professor for the Department of Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Someshwar is the adolescent medicine division chief for the Department of Pediatrics. Their presentation is titled "Bridging the gap: Effective strategies for transitioning pediatric patients to adult care."

Following the presentation, participants should be able to define healthcare transition and the components needed for a successful transition of care, become familiar with the formalized transition policy for WVU Medicine, be able to apply the transition policy in clinical practice and understand the challenges of implementing a transition policy.

The presentation will be held online via Zoom and in person. The in-person presentation will take place in the Fukushima Auditorium on the first floor of the Health Sciences Center near the entrance to the Dental Clinic.
