The WVU Internal Medicine Interest Group (IMIG), in coordination with ACP (American College of Physicians) and SGIM (Society of General Internal Medicine), will be hosting "#ProudToBeGIM" week on Tuesday February 25th at 12 PM-1 PM. The goal of this day is to enhance the knowledge and interest of internal medicine to our students. Please join us for an hour of fun, food, giveaways, and prizes as we celebrate Proud to be GIM week. Stay tuned for more information to come.

The first meeting is on February 20, 2020 at 12:15pm in John Jones C in the HSC.

MS4 Class of 2020

MATCH Rank Deadline is February 26. You must CERTIFY your rank list! Contact Christina or Amy with questions. Morgantown Match Day on Friday, March 20 at 10:30am in the Mountain Lair. Match Day Tickets are available for pickup this week in Christina’s office! Everyone will receive three tickets for the event. If you are in need of extra tickets, check with your classmates to see if anyone will not be using all of their tickets. After all students have picked up their tickets, a few extras may be released.

MAY COMMENCEMENT DATE UPDATES. Regalia orders have been submitted to the HSC Bookstore. Regalia will arrive at the Bookstore early April. The Bookstore CANNOT accept credit card payments over the phone. You can either pay by check or pay with a Barnes and Noble gift card. Questions – please contact Chuck Bowers at the HSC Bookstore – 304-293-4849. Graduation Application is due March 6th! You can find instructions to apply at the Registrar’s Webpage. The May 2020 Graduation Ceremony will be Friday, May 15 @7pm in the Creative Arts Center. A reception will immediately follow at the Erickson Alumni Center.

GQ Week will be February 24-28th. Watch for emails from AAMC to complete this important survey. Bring in proof of completion during GQ Week to be entered into a daily drawing!

MS3 Class of 2021

Getting to Residency 1.0 will be held after mid-block on Monday, March 30th from 4-5:30pm in 1905. This meeting is the first in our career counseling series. At this meeting, you’ll be given a booklet as your guide to the Match processes.

The WVU Department of Family Medicine is pleased to announce that the applications for its innovative Rural Scholars Program are now available. This program is designed for students committed to making rural/small town Family Medicine in West Virginia a career. Qualified MS III’s are eligible for a $10,000 stipend for their fourth year and facilitated admission to WVU’s Morgantown Family Medicine Residency. The Rural Scholars Program allows for an enhanced primary care experience in the 4th year curriculum as well as early integration into the residency experience. Post-Sophomore Fellowship Program in Boston. It is a year long commitment with a stipend, dedicated research time and rotations through various pathology subspecialties at Brigham and Women's Hospital. A link to their website is below.
