The Summer Oncology Research Fellowship program is looking for medical students to join our research program for an exciting 8-15 weeks during their summer vacation! We are looking for students who are interested in any field related to oncology and our goal is to promote their future success as potential physician-scientists related to oncology!

We are aiming to be an in-person program this year, however, we will convert to a hybrid program depending if there are any COVID restrictions.

We are offering a $600/week subsistence for their summer work.

We encourage a Team Science approach, i.e., multidisciplinary research project with more than one mentor, with one being primary and another being a day-to-day secondary one.

Students are paired with mentor based on their interests and project needs. They are to contact their mentor once paired to receive information on reading and the project. They will then present their project at the end of the summer. We encourage them to set a goal of a peer-reviewed publication and/or conference presentation/abstract/poster/oral presentation.

Our applications are currently open, and I do encourage everyone to apply!

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to email me at: HSOP@Chla.usc.edu
