MS4 Class of 2020

MAY COMMENCEMENT DATE UPDATES. Regalia orders have been submitted to the HSC Bookstore. Regalia will arrive at the Bookstore early April. The Bookstore CANNOT accept credit card payments over the phone. You can either pay by check or pay with a Barnes and Noble gift card. Questions – please contact Chuck Bowers at the HSC Bookstore – 304-293-4849. Graduation Application is due March 6th! You can find instructions to apply at the Registrar’s Webpage. The May 2020 Graduation Ceremony will be Friday, May 15 @7pm in the Creative Arts Center. A reception will immediately follow at the Erickson Alumni Center.

Getting to Residency 1.0 WILL BE POSTPONED!

The WVU Department of Family Medicine is pleased to announce that the applications for its innovative Rural Scholars Program are now available. This program is designed for students committed to making rural/small town Family Medicine in West Virginia a career. Qualified MS III’s are eligible for a $10,000 stipend for their fourth year and facilitated admission to WVU’s Morgantown Family Medicine Residency. The Rural Scholars Program allows for an enhanced primary care experience in the 4th year curriculum as well as early integration into the residency experience. Community and Rural Rotation Support (CARRS) Applications for Blocks 1-3 is open and closes on April 3, 2020. Review CARRS requirements, projects and mentors and apply for the $75 per day stipend at http://www.hsc.wvu.edu/icrh/students/carrs-program. Department of Family Medicine and WVU Institute for Community and Rural Health Summer Externship Program! This program offers a dynamic orientation (June 9-11) at HSC followed by a three-week (June 15-July3) clinical experience in a private physician’s office, a group practice and/or hospital setting. Students are pain a stipend (1,500 for a 4-week urban externship or 1,800 for a 4-week rural site) The application survey is available under the “Assessment Tools” tab on the Family Med: Summer Externship Program site.
