Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer opportunity for medical students at Sundale Nursing Home. At this time, the Director of Activities and Marketing is looking for volunteers that would be interested in assisting with COVID testing individuals presenting to the facility during nursing home resident visitation. There is also an opportunity to chaperone visitations as well. Hours are flexible and include evenings and weekends. Anyone interested can contact me directly via email (shraderc@wvumedicine.org) or the following Sundale staff: Donna Tennant, Director of Activities and Marketing or Tammy Wills, Infection Preventionist at 304-599-0497.

Amedisys Hospice is recruiting volunteers to assist their patients with various activities ranging from providing companionship via phone calls or in person visits, assisting with reading and writing letters, playing board games, scrapbooking/craft projects, and pet therapy to name a few. Hours are very flexible. Please refer interested participates to Austin Parrish, Amedisys Volunteer Coordinator at 304-285-2777.

MS4 Class of 2021

May Graduates: Live Commencement will be Sunday, May 16th at 2:00pm. You must register to participate in the ceremony. Please let us know your plans for participation and hooding here. Check your DegreeWorks to ensure you’re on track for May graduation. Remember you need 100 hours of Community Service logged on SOLE!

ERAS season for Match 2022 will begin on June 9th.

ERAS applications will open for you to begin applying to programs on the first Wednesday of September (September 1st)

Programs will not be able to begin reviewing your applications until the fifth Wednesday of September (September 29th). Your MSPE will be available to the programs with their initial application review this same day.

End of Year Picnic after the Comp Exam on May 12th at Erickson Alumni Center. RSVP here!

WHITE COAT 2021 will be held outdoors at the Erikson Alumni Center on Sunday, June 27th at 1 PM. This will be a student only event. We are looking at options to live stream the event for your family and friends.You will be required to wear a mask. Seats will be appropriately spaced. It will be followed by a plated reception.
