Career Planning Session - Round Robin Discussion - November 19
Due to the interest in surgical subspecialties and the success of last few years of Career Planning Sessions, we are hosting another Round Robin Discussion with all the surgical subspecialties in G119 A, Wednesday, November 19th from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm. We plan to have pizza there for you to eat at 5:30 pm.
We have invited the following specialties to speak about " a day in the life of a ..... " and the rest of the time is YOURs to ask any questions. How to best position yourself to get into residency? How competitive? How to engage in research and shadowing? How can I make myself stand out? Our goal is to get you ahead in the process of validating what you do and don't want to do, so that you can start research and shadowing to better position yourself to match in your residency choice anywhere in the country!
We plan to have faculty and residents from the following: ENT, General Surgery, CV/Thoracic, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery, Urology, Vascular. Please RSVP by 10:00 am November 12th so we’ll know how much food to order.

Career Planning and Advising Sessions with Dr. Hashmi
All MS4 students should take advantage of the Career Planning and Advising Sessions provided by Dr. Hashmi on Wednesdays in Medical Education to optimize your Residency application with reviews of your CV's, personal statements, and Residency Program selections. The goal is help you best position yourself to obtain the Residency Program of your choice. Email mhashmi@hsc.wvu.edu for an appointment.

For Future Pediatricians….Application now open!
If you hope to complete your pediatrics residency at WVU in Morgantown, consider applying to the Pediatrics Residency Rural Scholars Program. Benefits include a $10,000 stipend applied to your Year 4 tuition, your creation and implementation of a rural scholars project of your choice, guaranteed acceptance into the WVU Pediatrics Residency Program, and more. You don’t have to go through the Match!
