Nelson named president-elect of AMSNDC

Randy Nelson, Ph.D., chair of the WVU School of Medicine Department of Neuroscience, has been named president-elect of The Association of Medical School Neuroscience Department Chairpersons.

Nelson was elected to the position by his peers, and his term as president will begin in 2025 and last through 2027.

The AMSNDC is a national organization dedicated to promoting neuroscience as a scientific discipline and representing the interests of departments within medical school settings whose primary focus resides in research and training in neuroscience.

Among their other goals, the organization helps to promote and coordinate data collection, analysis, and exchange of relevant information between the AMSNDC, medical schools and national organizations like the NIH and NSF, as well as private foundations and industry.
