Nursing leadership changes announced

Several leadership changes have been made in the Nursing Operational Division and Professional Nursing Practice at WVU Medicine-WVU Hospitals:

Nursing Operational Division:

  • Mary Fanning will serve as assistant vice president, overseeing nursing administration, including the Magnet® program, transition to practice program, nursing wound care program, vascular access program, Diabetes Education Center, Elsevier Care Planning (CPM) program, and patient safety program. She'll also serve as the liaison to the WVU School of Nursing and nursing boards.
  • Dan Bazzoli will serve as nursing director and will oversee house supervisors, the Central Command Center, Nursing Resource Pool, and contract (per diem) nursing.

Professional Nursing Practice:

  • Cheryl Jones, vice president of WVU Medicine Children’s, will also serve as associate chief nursing officer for WVU Medicine Children’s.
  • Mary Fanning, assistant vice president, will also serve as associate chief nursing officer for all other areas of WVU Medicine-WVU Hospitals.
