OT Students Collaborate in Interprofessional Education Videos

Interprofessional Education is more than just finding your place - it's about understanding each other's roles to provide the best possible patient care and research.  The WVU Interprofessional Education incorporates Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) competencies of values and ethics, roles and responsibilites, communication, and teamwork to train students to perform effectively in different team roles. Students plan, deliver, and evaluate patient/population-centered care and population health programs and policies that are safe, timely, efficient, effective and equitable.

Each semester, WVU health science students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational experiences including medical simulations and community health fairs. Recently the IPE program created collaborations with students from occupational therapy, physical therapy, music therapy, pharmacy, nursing, dental hygiene, and journalism. These students combined each individual discipline's strengths to create content for elementary, middle and high school students on a variety of health-related topics.
