Pharmacy’s Diane Richardson to retire after more than 40 years at WVU Medicine
Diane Richardson, an administrative assistant for Pharmacy Administration, is retiring after more than 40 years at WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. Richardson worked in Clinical Labs, Human Resources, and Wellness Departments before she transitioned to the Pharmacy Department in 2018.
“Diane always has a smile on her face and is happy to help out however she can,” Daniel O’Neil, director, Inpatient Pharmacy, said. “She has amazing attention to detail and has built so many connections across the hospital, which has made her so successful over the years.”
Richardson said WVU Medicine has been such a special place to work because of the people and how much they make her feel appreciated. “Just knowing that I helped a lot of people along the way in my various roles who also helped me makes me feel happy that I was a part of a great organization,” Richardson said.
Richardson plans to spend time relaxing with family and traveling. She wants to spend more time with her granddaughter and is excited to become a grandmother for the second time with a new grandchild on the way. Richardson’s last day at WVU Medicine is Friday, May 6.
“We are extremely grateful for her commitment to the organization and the Department of Pharmacy over the past four decades,” O’Neil said.
