PI Academy: A Biostatistician is a Clinical Investigator's Best Friend
The WVCTSI Principal Investigator Academy will host special presenters from Brown University on September 22nd. Christopher Schmid, PhD, professor and former chair of the department of biostatistics at Brown University’s School of Public Health and Sharon Rounds, MD, professor of medicine and of pathology and laboratory medicine, associate dean for translational science at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University will present "A Biostatistician is a Clinical Investigator's Best Friend".
This presentation will focus on the example of a recently submitted research application to the Department of Veterans Affairs. Strong clinical investigations require close collaborations. Often overlooked, study biostatisticians can do much more than provide a sample size; they can help craft a coherent study design with well-formulated and testable aims and hypotheses, measurable outcomes, a pre-formulated data analytic plan, informative tables and figures and interpretation of study results.
The presentation will take place on Thursday, September 22 at 4:00 to 5:30 pm via Zoom. RSVP here. For additional information, contact Debbie Lee at debbie.lee@hsc.wvu.edu.
