Registration open for gender-affirming voice group therapy sessions
Adults can now register for gender-affirming voice group therapy sessions to provide a safe place to explore an individual’s voice while receiving positive, affirming feedback from individuals within their community.
Participants will work together to find voices that match their desired pitch, vocal quality and communication style.
The group therapy sessions meet once per week for six weeks for a total of six sessions, with each session lasting for 60 minutes.
The first session will be on Thursday, June 8 in Morgantown. Cost for the series is $240.
The sessions take place under the direction of Assistant Professor Christina Dastolfo-Hromack, CCC-SLP. Dr. Dastolfo completed her doctorate through the University of Pittsburgh, and she has experience in evaluating and treating individuals with voice disorders and gender-affirming voice care.
These sessions are hosted by the Division of Communication Sciences and Disorders within the West Virginia University School of Medicine.
